Although I found myself buying 4 papers just because there is a coupon for my husbands favorite tuna fish. Buy 2 get $1.00 off. A General Mills cereal coupon, Betty Crocker brownie coupon, Pop Secret popcorn coupon, and Betty Crocker suddenly salad mix coupons that if used during the correct sale all of these items will be less than 50 cents if not free when you buy them. There are a couple of good sales at CVS and Walgreens....

Wal-Mart

I know I have mentioned Wal-Mart and their price matching program in here in a few different places, but I just wanted to put together a post about the whole program and if there are any questions just let me know!! First of all, price matching is in Wal-Mart's policy which means it is in every store, don't be afraid to use this, because it will save you alot of money if you shop the sales and stock up for future use. The cashier's are pretty good about it as long as you have things in order, one suggestion was to circle (in your ad) the things you want to price match so that you won't hold up the line to much. Wal-Mart is very strict on some things, make sure the picture of the product is the same in the ad as what you are buying. The weight and brand have to be the same also. They will substitute store brands, for instance, Albertsons's cheese they will substitue it for Great Value (Wal-Mart's instore brand) cheese, but not Albertsons's cheese for Kraft cheese. A few things they will not accept is buy 1 get 1 free, % off (ex. 35% off make-up at Kroger) or other stores coupons. (Like if CVS has coupons in their ad, at CVS you can use these coupons plus the coupons from the Sunday paper) at Wal-Mart they only accept manufactures coupons. They will accept printed coupons off the internet, but everything has to be very legible, Wal-Mart will also accept ads printed off the internet as long as the date is show on the ad. Wal-Mart does often lose money by price matching but they bank on the fact that you aren't just buying those few price matched items. It took me a few tries to get everything right and not feel so nervy, but trust me, it is definitely worth it!!

Doubling or Tripling Coupons

Usually Albertson's and Kroger (Smith's) will triple the value of your coupons up to .39 and double coupons up to .50.(only on items that are on sale in the ad) For example, a box of fruit roll-ups are on sale for $1.00, and you have a coupon for .35 off. Albertsons's will triple this coupon and you will get the fruit roll-ups for free plus a .05 overage. I love this because if you stock up on coupons and then wait for the sale you can get alot of free stuff!! Things like cereal, toothpaste, fruit roll-ups, toaster struddles, (lots of name brand stuff) I could go on and on!! If you don't see any signs in the store ask the cashier!! Let me know if the stores in your area double or triple coupons.

Deals, Deals, Deals

Sorry, I've been out of town for a few days and could not access a computer!! There are a few really good deals out there this week.
1. Kellogg's Cereal- Frosted Flakes, Froot Loops, and Wild Animal Crunch for .98!! (Super 1 Food) There is a limit of three, so if you want to stock up bring some guests!!
2.Coke, Sprite, Diet Coke, Coke Zero, or Fanta 5 for $11.00. Limit 5 (Albertsons)
3. In the newspaper I saw some good Quaker granola bars coupons-buy 2 get $1.00 off. May not seem like a good deal right now, but Albertsons has a big Quaker sale a few times a year where everything (quick oats, oatmeal, granola bars, etc.) is $1.00, actually making them only .50!! I love this sale!!
4. Ads come out on Wednesday, (one of my favorite days of the week) so let's cross our fingers for some great deals!!
5. I had a few questions on the Wal-Mart price matching and printed ads, as far as price matching, it is in the policy so if they deny you ask to speak to the manager. Wal-Mart will take ads if you print them off the internet, only if the date is shown on the ad.

Did You Buy Coupons Today?

So, did everybody buy their coupons today? I usually notice the dollar amount that the coupons are worth (It's in the upper left hand corner), this week it was $126. Not bad, but nothing fantastic. So I opened them and there was only one insert (usually there are 2-3) but while going through the coupons I was pleasantly surprised!! There are a few "luxery" coupons that I saw, but did anybody notice the Oral B Cross Action Power toothbrush coupon(Buy 1 Get 1 Free)? At Wal-Greens the same toothbrush is on sale for $5.50 with $5.50 in register rewards on your next purchase. I have not ever done the register rewards at Wal-Greens, but I'm thinking it means alot of free toothbrushes. (If you buy multiple papers!!) If anybody knows about this deal let me know. Another good buy at Wal-Greens that I had my eye on is the snuggle fabric sheets for $1.99. Try the peach blossom & sunshine swirl scent paired with Gain's apple mango tango detergent and it has an absolutely, fabulous, fresh laundry smell!! (Oh and I have 6 $1.00 off coupons from last weeks coupons, which makes my favorite dryer sheets only .99!! That, I'm definitely going to stock up on!!) Everybody remember that Albertsons and Kroger(Smith's for you Utahns) differ from region to region but the Wal-Greens and CVS ads are the same nationally.

Saving ALOT of Money With Coupons!!

When I first say the word "coupon" you're probably thinking "It is such a pain to clip these coupons everyweek and only save 25 cents!!" Am I right? I'm going to tell you a way that you will get tons of free products by clipping these 25 cent coupons.
Every Saturday the Sunday paper is delivered to you're local grocery stores.(doesn't make sense I know!!) I usually go Saturday evening and get one paper. (I know I have alot of Utah readers, so let me warn you, in Utah you can only buy the Sunday newspaper on Sunday, in Texas the newspaper are for sale until they run out.) The cost is $2.00 per paper, but in most (big) towns they will give you the option of buying two papers for $3.00 (our first savings!!) So anyways, check out the coupons and see if there are any coupons for 1.items you purchase the most. 2. Those "luxery" items that you can't always afford to buy but love when they are in your house. (like fruit snacks, toaster struddles, Lucky Charms etc.). If I really like the coupons I will buy 6-10 papers, clip the coupons, organize them and wait for the sales. Alot of times there will be some coupons for free stuff, so look for these also. The biggest way to save is at Albertsons and Kroger.(Smiths) Theses stores will double a coupon that is worth up to 50 cents, and triple a coupon that is up to 35 cents. So in most cases if a product is $1.00 you can actually get it for free!! So on Saturday go buy your newspaper and start your collection!! I will also do this and post the best deals I find both in price matching and using your coupons. I'm really excited for this blog, because I love to justify buying a ton of food and not paying hardly anything for it!!

Bath & Body Works Sale

I just got back from Bath and Body Works and they are having a fantastic sale!! The classic scents (apple, peach, pear, plumeria, etc...) are 6 for $20.00. Which include the body spray, body wash, and lotion. Making them around $3.35 each. There are also a couple of new scents that are 75% off. Leaving the price $2.37!! Also wall flowers are on sale for $5.00, if you have never used them, they smell wonderful and last a long time too. WOW!! I think I will go back tomorrow and spend some more of my husbands money!!

Let's Save!!

My name is Jamie, I love to clip coupons and find good deals!! I used to dream of the day when I would have 10 kids and grocery shop at Costco. Filling up an entire handcart and spending $1000.00!! Recently I went to Costco and found myself thinking about every price and if I could buy that for a better deal using coupons. Almost everything I needed I could buy cheaper using in store ads and coupons.
I live in a small town with nothing but a Wal-Mart and Brookshires, not alot of ways to save money there. My husband is in graduate school and our income is minimal which makes our food budget minimal too. Here's the easiest way I found to save money. I started out by calling the various stores and having them send me their ads. (stores and phone numbers are listed on the side) they come once a week in the mail. From there I find the best deals and off to Wal-Mart I go!! But by price matching and using coupons you can actually save a lot of money.
